At Audacy, we’re committed to creating a fair and transparent marketplace for podcasters and advertisers. To do that, we need to make sure ad impressions are delivered to real listeners, not automated systems.

What counts as “non-human” traffic?

From time to time, we see downloads triggered by bots, scripts, or automated tools posing as real listeners. These can inflate your stats and generate ad impressions that weren’t heard by an actual person.

Why this matters

Audacy works with premium brands who expect accurate reporting and authentic engagement.

Artificial traffic:

  • Skews podcast analytics

  • Damages advertiser trust

  • Hurts the entire ecosystem for creators who rely on real audiences

Because of this, non-human traffic isn’t allowed on our platform.

What happens if Audacy detects suspicious activity?

If we believe a show is receiving invalid traffic of any kind, we may disable ad monetization without advance notice. In most cases, we’ll reach out to learn how your podcast is being promoted and help resolve the issue. If the activity stops and your stats return to normal, we can restore monetization.

If artificial traffic continues, ads may remain disabled, and the show may be removed from the platform.

Our goal

We want creators to succeed with real audiences and real monetization opportunities. Keeping our marketplace free of artificial traffic helps protect your show, our advertisers, and the entire community.
