Thinking about renaming your show or refreshing your artwork and description?
Audacy Creator Lab makes it easy to rebrand without losing your existing subscribers. In most cases, all you need to do is update your title, description, and podcast artwork on Creator Lab. Listening platforms will reflect your new brand and subscribers will not need to re-sub.
You can follow the steps below to ensure a smooth transition and verify that your changes carry over to all major platforms.
1. Update Your Podcast Details in Creator Lab
Log in to Your Audacy Creator Lab Account
Click Feed Settings (left side)
Update the Title, Description, and Artwork to match your new branding.
Keep in mind any guidelines or best practices for images (e.g., recommended size of 1400 x 1400 px).
Confirm Changes and Save
Make sure all new information is correct, as this data automatically populates your RSS feed.
Hit Save to finalize your updates.
Note: The new branding typically propagates to podcast directories automatically within a few hours, but it can sometimes take a day or two for all platforms to refresh fully.
2. Verify Updates on Apple Podcasts
After saving your changes in Creator Lab and waiting at least a couple of hours, here’s how to confirm your new branding on Apple:
Sign in to Apple Podcasts Connect
Go to podcastsconnect.apple.com and log in with your Apple ID.
Select Your Show
Choose the rebranded show from your dashboard.
Check Show Details
Confirm the updated title, description, and artwork appear correctly.
If anything looks incorrect, you can either refresh the feed or click Edit in Apple Podcasts Connect to see if any fields need manual updates.
Note:
Your Apple Podcasts link (Apple ID) will remain the same. If you shared your Apple Podcasts URL before, it should still work without interruption.
Allow Time to Propagate. Apple Podcasts can take up to 24–48 hours to update after changes are made in Audacy Creator Lab.
3. Verify Updates on Spotify
Spotify also provides a dedicated portal for podcasters:
Log in to Spotify for Podcasters
Visit creators.spotify.com and sign in.
Select Your Podcast
Find your show in the list.
Review Show Information
Confirm the show name, description, and artwork reflect your new branding.
Spotify usually updates within hours, but it may take up to a day to fully refresh.
Note:
Your Spotify show ID will remain the same. Any direct links you’ve shared to your podcast on Spotify will still work as usual.
Allow Time to Propagate. Spotify can take up to 24–48 hours to update after changes are made in Audacy Creator Lab.
4. Potential Restrictions & Limitations
Naming Rules: Apple Podcasts and Spotify both have specific guidelines for show titles (e.g., limiting emojis, special characters, or excessive punctuation). Make sure your new name follows their rules to avoid delays or rejections.
Explicit & Content Warnings: If your rebrand changes the show’s content rating, update the “Explicit” setting to ensure your listing is accurate across directories.
Existing Subscribers: A full rebrand typically does not affect your existing subscribers as long as your RSS feed remains the same. They’ll see the new name and artwork in their podcast app without needing to re‐subscribe.
Distribution Channels: Rebranding doesn’t require you to resubmit your podcast to directories. Your updated RSS feed will be recognized automatically by most platforms.
5. Additional Tips for a Smooth Transition
Episode‐Level Updates: Consider adjusting past episode titles or descriptions to match the new branding
Listener Communication: Consider announcing your show’s name change in an episode or on social media to avoid confusion.
Timing: Plan your rebrand around a time when you can check in frequently on the major platforms, ensuring your updates appear correctly
