Publishing Video Podcast Episodes to YouTube
Creator Lab now supports publishing video versions of your podcast episodes directly to your YouTube channel. This guide explains how to connect your YouTube account, how the upload process works, and how to remove any stored YouTube data or revoke access at any time.
Connecting Your YouTube Account
In Creator Lab, open the Platforms page.
Find the YouTube integration and click Connect.
You’ll be prompted to sign into your Google account and grant Creator Lab permission to upload videos on your behalf.
Once connected, your YouTube channel will show as “Linked” on the Platforms page.
You can disconnect your YouTube account at any time (details below).
Uploading a Video Episode
Go to Create Episode and upload your audio and/or video file.
If a video file is uploaded, a video preview will appear.
You’ll see a checkbox: Upload to YouTube and a Public/Private toggle
When enabled, your video will be uploaded to your connected YouTube channel once the episode is published.
Note: The episode will be published to your RSS feed as audio-only - video will not be published to Apple, Spotify, and other podcast distributors
YouTube Privacy Status:
If the episode is set to publish immediately, YouTube privacy status can be toggled
If the episode is set to leave unpublished, video will be uploaded as Private
If the episode is scheduled to publish, video will be uploaded as Private, then set to Public at the scheduled date. If you don’t want this, disable the checkbox and upload to YouTube manually
After publishing:
Your audio episode will be distributed normally via your RSS feed.
Your video episode will be delivered to your YouTube channel.
A YouTube link will appear on the Episode Details page and the Episode List for easy access.
Disconnecting Your YouTube Account
If you disconnect YouTube on the Platforms page:
The YouTube link previously shown on episode pages will be removed from Creator Lab.
Creator Lab will stop uploading new videos to your YouTube channel.
No videos are deleted from YouTube. All existing videos remain on your channel, and you can manage or remove them directly in YouTube Studio.
This action also clears any YouTube-related data stored within Creator Lab (such as stored tokens and video link references).
Deleting Stored YouTube Data in Creator Lab
Creator Lab stores only the minimum YouTube-related information needed to support uploads:
Your YouTube connection status
The YouTube video link associated with an episode
To delete this stored data:
Go to the Platforms page.
Click Disconnect on the YouTube integration.
This removes any linked YouTube data from Creator Lab.
It does not delete videos from your YouTube account.
How to Revoke Creator Lab’s Access in Google
Creators can fully revoke Creator Lab’s API access from their Google account at any time.
Visit the Google Security settings page: https://myaccount.google.com/permissions
Find Audacy
Click Remove Access.
This immediately revokes Creator Lab’s permission to upload videos or interact with your YouTube account.
Once disconnected, the “Upload to YouTube” option will no longer appear on the Create Episode page, and you will only be able to publish audio versions of your podcast episodes
Video Monetization Notes
While Creator Lab supports publishing video versions of your episodes directly to YouTube, monetization through Creator Lab remains audio-only at this time.
What this means:
Creator Lab does not monetize the video portion of your episode on YouTube.
Your Sponsorship stats via our prefix, and your Hosting earnings from ad impressions are only from the audio version of your podcast distributed via RSS
Creators receive ads and earnings from U.S. podcast audiences only
Creators are encouraged to monetize their YouTube content separately using YouTube’s native monetization tools if eligible.
This setup allows you to expand your reach with video on YouTube while continuing to monetize your podcast through Creator Lab’s audio-first advertising ecosystem.
What Data Creator Lab Accesses
Creator Lab only accesses and uses the permissions you explicitly grant during the OAuth process, and only for uploading videos on your behalf.
We do not read or modify other videos in your channel, and we do not store or share YouTube data beyond what’s required to complete the upload you initiate.
