Does Audacy Creator Lab Hosting Support Video Podcasts?

At this time, Creator Lab Hosting does not support video podcast distribution via RSS to platforms such as Apple Podcasts or Spotify. Our platform is designed for audio-only podcasting, and all uploaded files must be in one of the following formats:

  • MP3

  • M4A

  • WAV

Additionally, files must be under 500MB in size.

Creator Lab now supports publishing video versions of your episodes directly to YouTube through our built-in YouTube integration. Video uploaded through Creator Lab is delivered only to YouTube and is not distributed through your RSS feed.
Learn more about publishing video to YouTube here: https://help.creators.audacy.com/en/articles/13531649-uploading-video-episodes-to-youtube

Note: Podcasts published with video files in the RSS feed will be converted to audio-only when migrating to Audacy Creator Lab.

Can I Add Video to My Podcast?
While Audacy Creator Lab does not support video distribution through RSS to Apple Podcasts or Spotify, you can now upload and publish video versions of your episodes directly to YouTube within Creator Lab.

If you would like to distribute video to Apple Podcasts or Spotify natively, you must manage and upload video separately within those platforms’ dashboards.

How Does This Affect Monetization?
If you choose to distribute a video version of your podcast, Creator Lab will not be able to serve ads on those episodes. Our dynamic ad insertion (DAI) technology currently supports audio-only content, meaning any episodes you publish in video format will not be eligible for monetization through our platform.

This includes video distributed to YouTube. Creator Lab monetization applies only to the audio version of your podcast distributed via RSS.

Please be aware that if you upload video on Spotify, those metrics may not be reflected in Creator Lab, which could make your Audacy Creator Lab stats appear lower.

What happens if my previous hosting platform supported video and I migrate to Audacy Creator Lab?

If your old hosting platform accommodated video, any podcast episodes published with video in the RSS feed will be converted to audio-only upon migrating to Creator Lab.

This means video playback will no longer be available on platforms like Spotify and Apple. However, the episodes themselves, along with their audio, will remain in your feed without any other modifications.

You may continue publishing video versions of your episodes to YouTube using Creator Lab’s YouTube integration.

The Future of Video on Audacy Creator Lab
The podcasting industry is evolving, and we continue to explore the role of video on our platform. While we currently focus on audio-first monetization, we have begun expanding our video capabilities with direct YouTube publishing and will continue evaluating additional integrations over time.
